The Golden Formula of Louis Erard keeps on bringing beautiful and highly appreciated pieces. Partner with an independent high-end watchmaker, whose pieces are usually unattainable for the average watch fan, and bring a limited edition affordable watch with involvement and a clear signature of that watchmaker.

The previous editions with Alain Silberstein, Vianney Halter and Konstantin Chaykin were clear hits, not only commercially but also in branding value. It transformed Louis Erard into a creative powerhouse and a darling for insider watch fans. The watches are regular entrants at Phillips and Christie’s auctions, ranked amongst the original pieces of much higher value, adding even more credibility to the brand and its collector appeal. A quick check on Chrono24 learns that all limited editions collaboration watches trade comfortably above original retail prices these days.

This week a new chapter is added with the launch of a new collaboration with Konstantin Chaykin. Chaykin is a true watchmaking magician, combining brilliant watchmaking skills with the creativity of an artist. On top of that, humour plays an essential role in his models. We’ll all know The Joker, with its famous eyes, which has gained an iconic status in independent watchmaking.

The new collaboration pieces is called Louis Erard x Konstantin Chaykin Regulator Time-Eater II “From Dusk to Dawn”. It follows the first edition of the one-eyed monster launched earlier this year, this time in different case size and treatment. It comes in a 42mm polished steel case and a 39mm black PVD version, both limited to 178 pieces and priced at 4,000 CHF. On top of that 28 collector boxes with both watches are available and 8 “Quadriptyque” boxes with 4 watches (also including the two previous versions) are available for die-hard fans at 15,900 CHF.

Konstantin Chaykins’ playful approach and humour fits perfectly well with Louis Erard, and there is no doubt that the new editions will be sold out quickly, to appear pretty soon in the worlds’ prestigious watch auction catalogues.

Should I finally buy a MoonSwatch?

I still remember the media frenzy in early 2022. Just a week before Watches & Wonders Swatch announced the MoonSwatch, and they immediately won the publicity battle over all the novelties that followed a week later. While the marketing approach was close to brilliant (only buy at the stores) and the effects very visible (long […]
