Please welcome the very first IWC Big Pilots watch with a chronograph function.

This year is truly the year of the Big Pilot at IWC, with already a some great releases like the 43mm versions as well as the first IWC Big Pilot Perpetual Calender Top Gun Edition made out of Ceratanium™.

What is a monopusher complication?

Now, IWC takes it one step further in introducing for the first time a chronograph function within a Big Pilot. It’s hard to believe that this never happened before in the almost 20 years the Big Pilot has been on the market. But of course IWC not just integrated a chronograph movement and pushers, no they integrated a monopusher complication.

So, what is a monopusher complication? Very simple, it’s a stopwatch function that can be started, stopped and reset via a single push-button crown. The first push starts the second and minute hand. The second push stops the chronograph, and the third push resets the minute and hour hands to zero.

“Le Petit Prince”

Let’s have a closer look at the IWC Big Pilots Watch Monopusher Edition „Le Petit Prince“.

With its characteristic deep-blue sunburst dial, raised luminous markers and arabic numerals, this Big Pilot carries the same DNA as the famous IW500908. This timepiece was made from 2014 which was limited to 1000 pieces and still a very popular collectors piece.

Love for perfect design

For the monopusher, IWC is using their only manually wound chronograph movement, the IWC manufactured caliber 59365 which again shows the expertise of IWC. This hand wound caliber has a power reserve of 8 days, the indication can be seen on the back together with the beautiful movement. Also the pusher integration itself within the iconic conical (onion) crown, shows the love for perfect design at IWC.

“Le Petit Prince” is Limited to 500 pieces

The IWC Big Pilots Watch Monopusher Edition „Le Petit Prince“ is limited to 500 pieces and comes with a brown calfskin strap with a steel folding clasp for a retail price of $16,100.
