Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Chronograph in grey

The modern Polaris is the sportiest choice in the JLC collection since its launch in 2018. It evolved from the original 1968 divers watch (with underwater alarm) to more generic sports watch, mixed with the elegance that usually comes with a Jaeger-LeCoultre.

Since 2018 the Polaris has grown into a full collection with a Date-version, a Chronograph, a Perpetual Calendar and a World Timer. And it’s the chronograph version that’s being refreshed now in two dial colour variations, new dial layout and a new movement. We were already used to the blue dial version, and now the collection is joined by a beautiful grey lacquered dial version.

The case size is 42mm, and due to the new Caliber 761 movement the watch is with 13,9mm slightly thicker than the previous one. The grey version has exactly the sporty vs. elegance balance we might expect from JLC. The tachymeter is in the outer ring of the dial, and the chapter ring indicating hours is in a gradiant grey laquer, which is applied by hand in no less than 35 coatings. The inner disc carries a bi-compax layout in black: Contrasting with the grey surroundings it gives a different look compared to the blue dial version, more sporty in my opinion.

The Caliber 761 is a fresh integrated automatic chronograph movement with double barrels to provide a 65-hour power reserve to keep things running. It is decorated with Geneva stripes and visible through the caseback. The watch comes with two interchangeable rubber straps.

A welcome addition to the Polaris family, the grey Polaris Chronograph is available as part of the current collection and is priced (in US) at $ 14.300.
