This week Perrelet is launching it’s most characteristic collection in a smaller case size: the Turbine 41 Titanium introduces the spinning turbine wheel in a 41mm titanium case.
The Turbine, spinning at the slightest movement of the wrist in the center of the dial, is the signature feature for Perrelet. It combines playfulness with a serious watchmaking statement and it takes it inspiration from aeronautical propulsion systems. Launched in 2009 the diameter of the Turbine watches always averaged 44mm, so the 41 introduced now is a serious downsize and in line with current trend and taste. And the result works out really well!
The Turbine 41 Titanium is offered in 10 references, 4 with a polished grade 5 titanium case and integrated bracelet and in shades of blue, green, red or black. The other 6 versions have a black DLC titanium case and rubber strap. The strap matches the colour of the turbine and sub-dials and come in yellow, orange, red, English green, blue and black.
While the version with bracelet feels a bit more serious and grown-up, the DLC-versions with the rubber strap steal the show in terms of playfulness and visual impact. Put one on your wrist and you’ll find yourselves constantly moving and shaking your wrist to enjoy the Turbine effect. At the same time the combination of titanium case, the rubber strap and the attractive 41mm case size make the Turbine 41 a watch that is very wearable and pleasant on the wrist.
The movement is designed and manufactured by Soprod, the in-house manufacture that is part of the Festina Group, together with Perrelet and Leroy. Reliability and precision are guaranteed by two certifications, issued by COSC and Chronofiable.
The Turbine 41 Titanium will be available this month and will retail at € 4,750 for the rubber strap and € 4,850 for the bracelet. A welcome and original addition to the market I would say..
